Frequently Asked Questions
What is your process for booking?
You can now request an appointment online through Nicely Counseling Services! After scheduling, you will be provided with the required intake forms to be completed, and then I will contact you directly to confirm your appointment. Please note that consent must be signed by the lactating parent.
What is your availability?
I am often able to see you within 48 hours and I can schedule appointments 7 days a week. I update my booking availability regularly here.
What does a Consult cost?
You can find my services and costs here.
How should I prepare for my appointment?
Please fill out all intake forms that were provided to you prior to your appointment. If possible, please avoid giving your baby a full feeding just prior to your appointment as I will want to observe a feeding when we meet. You may wish to write down a list of questions for me or show me your pump/devices if you need help with them.
What Should I bring to my Office appointment?
First and foremost, yourself and your baby! You should also bring any feeding aids or devices that you have been using, including breastfeeding pillows, nipple shields, or bottles, if applicable. You can also bring your pump and accessories if you have questions about pumping.
Do you accept insurance?
I am not currently in-network with any health insurance company, and would be considered an out-of-network provider. However, Nicely Counseling Services will provide you with a “superbill” (similar to an itemized receipt) that you will be able to submit to your health insurance company for reimbursement*. I may contract with some health insurance companies in the future.
*Please note that travel fees are not reimbursed by insurance.
So how do I pay?
At this time, services are self-pay via credit card. You may also use a HSA/FSA card! Payment is due at the time of service. Nicely Counseling Services will provide you with a “superbill” (similar to an itemized receipt) that you can submit to your health insurance company for reimbursement. Please contact your individual health insurance provider to find out about your lactation benefits and reimbursement for out-of-network providers. Some insurers in MA often reimburse 100% of lactation visits.
Please note that a $50 Non-Refundable Deposit is due at time of booking. This will be applied toward your visit balance. Travel fees are not reimbursed by insurance.
Do I need a whole appointment If I Just Have A Quick Question?
Unfortunately, unless you have booked an appointment, provided your health history, and signed a consent form, I can’t provide advice or services to you. This is both for your protection and mine!
Will you be my mentor?
At this time, I am not able to act as a mentor for IBCLC candidates. Believe me—I know how difficult they are to find and how important they are, so check back in the future!
